They have yet to win a World Series Championship or even appear in a World Series contest, but have won three West Division titles. The only Seattle Mariner to reach the Baseball Hall of Fame is pitcher Gaylord Perry. His famous spitball earned him his place in baseball history, while his 20-season career with Seattle earned him the loving nickname "The Ancient Mariner".

The Mariners' current home is Safeco Field, a much bigger and better ballpark than the Kingdome the team previously inhabited. The team is currently owned by Nintendo of America and managed by Mike Hargrove. The bench coach is John McLaren and the bullpen is managed by Jim Slaton. In Mariners fan history, the 1995 "Miracle Season" tops the glory charts with the most memorable game ever-- the game that won ALDS. Commentator Dave Niehaus' call on "the double" by Edgar Martinez during the 11th inning still echoes in the minds of fans: "I don't believe it, it just continues, My oh my!".
