Originally from Washington, D.C., the Minnesota Twins arrived as the first professional baseball team in Minneapolis in 1960. In 1965 they won their first American League Pennant and in 1987 their first World Series. That 1987 winning season was propelled to the World Series, in large part, by recently acquired superstars Kent Hrbek and Kirby Puckett. In the next few years the Twins built an even stronger roster, including Shane Mack, Scott Leius, Chili Davis, Chuck Knoblauch, Scott Erickson, Rick Aguilera and Jack Morris.

Going forward the Twins will rely on that upward momentum, and players Justin Mourneau, Joe Mauer, Luis Castillo, Torii Hunter and Michael Cuddyer, to take them to their next World Series. That effort will require pitchers Johan Santana and Joe Nathan to continue their fantastic performance, a feat Twins fans across the nation believe is quite likely.
